Open tools for home energy decentralization
Evolving Home's mission is to accelerate the decentralization of energy, one home at a time. We will open the physics and honesty layer so researchers, builders, and local contributors can audit and extend it — while the Passport product keeps evidence custody and action under homeowner control.
Public GitHub will land under a dedicated open brand when packages pass release gates — not a dump of our private product monorepo.
What we plan to open
MIT-oriented packages after legal, secret, and truthfulness gates. Exact public brand name TBD (short, shareable — not a bland internal codename).
Score engine
Deterministic 0–100 energy score with published methodology, assumptions, and golden fixtures — auditable, not a black box.
Shared contracts
Schemas for facts, candidate proposals, and model output traces so integrators and adapters speak the same language.
Truth evals
Guardrails that refuse overclaiming (privacy, VPP income, thin evidence) — the honesty layer behind hybrid AI.
Country adapters
Interfaces so contributors can plug local certificates, climate, and grid context into a shared world model.
What stays product

Hybrid AI never silently writes verified Passport facts. Open evals and rules reinforce that boundary; hosted product paths remain separate.
Contribute later: country adapters
After the adapter SDK ships, the highest-leverage community work is local certificates, climate, and grid context — so homes beyond the UK can be measured honestly. Issue templates and fixtures will live in the public packages repo.
